ACCEPTING NEW ONTARIO BASED CLIENTS

“Only when you fully accept who you are here and now do you have the opportunity to change” ~ Perls

I am a Registered Psychotherapist and a Registered Occupational Therapist who is passionate about the therapeutic approach and empowering my clients to discover and create personal transformations. I have 23 years of experience, training, teaching, leading in psychotherapy, and I have advanced training in the provision of Psychotherapy Supervision, and many psychotherapeutic modalities. I am continually inspired by the experiences and stories that my clients bring to therapy. Research shows that the most significant factor in predicting successful psychotherapy outcomes is the therapeutic relationship with the client, not the modality used. (Norcross, 2010). I believe the therapeutic relationship is the golden element of the therapeutic process.

Working from a client-centred, humanistic, integrative, evidence-based model that draws on a collaborative framework with the client, I bring my full presence, using a here-and-now, relational, process-oriented, body-focused approach. I have extensive experience supporting clients dealing with depression, anxiety, grief, loss, relationship difficulties, trauma (Post-traumatic stress disorder), and life transitions. I work by meeting the client wherever they are on their journey, through a compassionate, caring context to achieve healthy goal-related changes.

I am a graduate of the Gestalt Institute of Toronto. In addition, and most notably I have also pioneered the creation of a Psychotherapy Supervision Training program for Occupational therapists in Ontario and have formal training in supervision. The priority of my approach is to create a strong therapeutic relationship with clients that is non-judgmental, safe, and collaborative, while using evidence- based treatment modalities.
